Nashville has been chosen as the host city for the 2019 NFL Draft, which will span from April 25-27. In short, this means lots of tourism revenue for the city. City leaders expect the event to be the biggest media event in the city's recent history.

Numbers from Previous Years

According to The Tennesseean, the 2018 NFL Draft, which was held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, generated a record-breaking $125 million in economic impact and $74 million in direct spending. This bodes well for Nashville's returns, though no exact estimate has been given.

In years past, the event has attracted some 250,000 attendees, and Mayor David Briley predicts at least 25,000 out-of-town visitors will be in Nashville for the event. Nashville hotels are gearing up for these out-of-towners by offering draft-specific hotel packages.

What's Happening

In true Nashville fashion, the event will also feature live music. Fairgrounds Speedway will host artists NBA Young Boy, Young Dolph, Key Glock, and Yella Beezy at the Annual Nashville Draft Music & Food Festival on April 27. Ticket prices range from $55 for general admission to $250 for the VIP Suite.

Admission to the event itself is free with festivities taking place all around downtown Nashville. The event kicks off with the NFL Draft Red Carpet at the Green at Riverfront Park. The main NFL Draft stage will be on First and Broadway, and Selection Square will be hosted by Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The NFL Draft Experience, including an autograph stage, interactive games and clinics, the NFL Shop, and the Taste of Tailgate with Nashville restaurants, will be held in the parking lots and areas surrounding Nissan Stadium.
